1838 N3 1 55 55 500.00 Medium olive brown with choice, lustrous surfaces. Some faded mint color in protected areas and bluish overtones on the rev. MDS, with some weakness in the strike on the hair buns, stars, legend and wreath. C

1838 N3 1 58 55 475.00 Medium brown with choice, lustrous surfaces.  Some very minor circ. marks and hairlines.  There is a planchet lamination line from the obverse rim at 7:00 to the jaw.  LDS.  Removed from a PCGS holder graded MS62 Brown.  Pretty!!!!      A++

 

1838 N3 1 60+ 60+ 850.00 Medium olive brown with choice, frosty surfaces. Some very minor handling marks. This coin was struck thru a piece of lint that produced a curved line in front of the mouth.  Condition Census #6.  A+

1838 N4 2 63 63 2,500.00 Brown with a trace of mint red on the obverse and 5% mint red on the reverse.  Choice, lustrous surfaces.  There is an old, light scrape on the reverse rim at 6:00.  Tied for Condition Census #4.  Removed from a PCGS holder graded MS65 Brown.         A++

1838 N4 2 64 64 3,500.00 Brown with 15% mint red.  There is an area of greenish toning from stars 1-3 to the face.  Choice, lustrous surfaces.  EDS.  Bold strike.  Removed from a PCGS holder graded MS64 Brown.  Condition Census #2.  A very important coin!!!!!                   C

1838 N10 1 63+ 63 2,500.00 Brown with 20% mint red. Choice, lustrous surfaces. Cartwheel. Ancient, faint pin scratch between stars 3-4. Tiny nick on hair strand above ear. Some very minor marks on rev. rim that take a glass to see. MDS, with heavy cracks to M. Ex-Lester Bernstein; Stack’s, 4-1986, Lot 103; Tom Chalkley; Superior, 1-1990, Lot 831; Tom Morley; Superior, 5-31-92, Lot 362; Tom Reynolds; Wayne Anderson. Removed from a PCGS holder graded MS64 Brown. Tied for Condition Census #3.  C
